Joy Yee - Senior Pastor
Joy became Pastor of 19th Ave. Baptist Church when it merged with New Covenant Baptist Church, a community she had pastored
for five years. A graduate of Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary, Joy received her M.Div. in 1992
and was ordained in 2000. In addition to pastoring Joy has served as Moderator for Cooperative Baptist Fellowship
and has been a guest preacher for various events around the country.
A native San Franciscan,
Joy's heart resides in local church ministry. Working with the people of God to build authentic community
which shares God's love and serves others is a great blessing for her. She also finds deep contentment
in serving others as a spiritual director who helps people articulate their experiences with God and respond to
Him.
Joy is married to Jimmy Yee and they have two fantastic teenaged sons, Nathan and Kevin, who fill
their lives with a lot of laughter and perspective. There is also one cat in the family named Misty. The family
enjoys getting away to beautiful Monterey, California to eat caramel apples and huge submarine sandwiches every once
in a while. A devoted introvert who can enjoy behaving extrovertedly, Joy loves to read books, play the piano,
sing, cook large amounts of food, jog and take naps on the couch under her favorite quilt. Jen Van Camp - Youth Pastor
Jen Van Camp became the Youth Pastor at Nineteenth Avenue Baptist Church in September of 2006. She moved to San Francisco
from Atlanta, but grew up in Lexington, KY. She received a Master of Divinity degree
from McAfee School of Theology at Mercer University in Atlanta, GA in May 2006 and went to undergrad at Cumberland College
in Williamsburg, KY where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Arts in 1999.
Jen's ministry
experience includes serving on staff as Youth Minister at Embry Hills United Methodist Church in Atlanta, GA, serving on staff
as a worship leader and Bible study leader for various youth camps, as well as leading worship for many youth and college
retreats.
Jen loves being an aunt and also, just to name a few things, loves to explore the city, eat at restaurants with great atmosphere,
sing karaoke, play guitar, hang out with friends and youth, watch movies and cheer for University of Kentucky Wildcats basketball.
Go Big Blue! Mary Beth Johnson
- Minister of Music and Worship

 “Raised”
a small town/country girl in the rural Missouri Ozarks. Received B.A. in Elementary Education from Southwest Baptist College, Bolivar, MO. Moved to the Bay Area
to earn a Masters of Divinity from Golden Gate Seminary, Mill Valley, CA. Ended up having too much fun in San Francisco to ever
get around to returning to the Ozarks – thanks to having been with NABC since 1984,
the natural beauty of this incredible place, and the rich diversity of cultures. Music about the mystery and
miracle of relationship with God is the thing that makes my heart sing because, as Aldous Huxley put it, “Music
is [after silence] that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible.” Love to
travel just about anywhere a passport is required, but still always thrilled at seeing the city skyline and the silhouettes
of the Golden Gate and Bay Bridge when flying back in to SFO.
Isa Tong - Office Administrator Isa Tong was born and raised in Hong Kong. She finished high
school at Maryknoll Father's School. She graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor's degree
in English Literature and Comparative Studies. She came to the United States in 1989 and obtained a Master's Degree
in Adult Education. She is planning to study a second Master's Degree in Theology in 2007.
Isa has been working in the educational field for over 16 years. She taught elementary
school children of almost every ethnicity how to speak and write Chinese in San Francisco. She enjoys interacting with
kids in music, games, and stories. In the afternoons, she works for Nineteenth Avenue Baptist Church as the office administrator.
She enjoys this job because she can serve the Lord and help people from the church and the neighborhood. In her spare time, Isa likes to go shopping, read books, talk to friends
and cook. She always has fun doing activities with family and friends. Lately, she thanks God so much that her
parents have started to join her in many church activities.
